The John Paul Foundation Discovery Centre at Warrah was officially opened in April 2022 by the Mayor of Hornsby Shire Council, the Hon. Philip Ruddock AO, at a special ceremony attended by staff and guests. The new Centre is used to deliver Warrah’s Discovery program.
We are proud to provide young adults living with disability in north-west Sydney access to more opportunities, and are grateful for the support of Holdmark Property Group.
Holdmark Property Group founder Sarkis Nassif said he was proud to support the work of Warrah.
“I have seen firsthand the incredible support Warrah provides to the community through their programs so I was thrilled to be able to provide the resources needed to ensure this new facility could be built,” Mr Nassif said.
“The new facilities at the John Paul Foundation Discovery Centre will help provide young adults with the support needed for the choices they have made for their life journey.”
Discovery is a tailored program for school leavers, designed to deliver individualised plans that support the transition to adult life, while building on skills developed at school. The Centre also offers people living with disability the opportunity for short stays and respite care in a safe and supported environment.
Warrah Chairman Steve Malin said the Centre was an extraordinary asset for the entire community.
“The Centre will serve this community for generations to come and ensure young adults living with a disability have access to the services they need,” Mr Malin said.
Minister for Families and Communities, and Minister for Disability Services Natasha Maclaren-Jones said it was an honour to be opening the Centre today.
“This Centre will make a huge difference to the lives of young adults with disability in Warrah,” Ms Natasha Maclaren-Jones said.
Holdmark Property Group donated the building resources towards the construction of the new and improved facility.
