New Kitchen Revealed at Greenway

Apr 5, 2021 | News

One of Warrah’s Supported Independent Living Houses has recently had a kitchen makeover, and what a difference it has made! The new kitchen was made possible by a grant from the NSW Community Building Partnership 2020.

NSW Treasurer and Member for Epping, Dominic Perrottet MP visited ‘Greenway’ to meet residents and to see first-hand how much the funding was needed for the new kitchen.

The new kitchen features new modern cabinetry, better storage and a new servery window accessing the main living space. The larger oven and stove top are a welcome addition to the kitchen, especially when friends and family members visit for meals.

“The new kitchen and flooring is an immense improvement to the home, providing a modern and accessible space where our residents can cook together and develop their everyday life skills for independence”, said Sandra Quisumbing, Warrah’s Accommodation Services Manager.

Warrah’s homes located in North West Sydney are purpose built or modified for people with disability. Actively contributing to household tasks and responsibilities, is an important part of learning skills and contributing to the household routines.

“The new kitchen has provided more pleasure for our residents who enjoy being involved in meal planning, preparation and cooking. We are very grateful for the funding we have received from NSW Community Building Partnership, which has benefited both our residents and Support Workers.”
