When Generosity Becomes Impact – Pro Bono Support and Gifts in Kind

Feb 19, 2026 | News

Some of the most meaningful changes at Warrah happen not through large campaigns or major announcements, but through people quietly giving their time, skills, and resources to support our community. Pro bono services and gifts in kind are an essential part of how Warrah continues to create safe and welcoming environments for people with intellectual disabilities. These contributions help us stretch our resources further and focus our funding where it matters most, supporting people to learn, live, create, and grow.

On an ordinary day at Warrah, generosity can look like a team member arriving early to find pathways clean, walls refreshed and gutters cleared. Elevate Exteriors generously donated a full day of their time recently to carry out high-powered water cleaning and gutter maintenance across the campus. It was work that made an immediate difference, improving safety, presentation, and the everyday experience of everyone who uses our campus.

In other moments, generosity helps shape the future. As part of the development of our new Kaltenbach classrooms, Mainbrace Construction donated cement to support the build. This gift in kind contributed directly to creating modern, purpose-built learning spaces that will support students for years to come, a lasting legacy built through community partnership. Similarly, Sandrick Project Directions provided invaluable pro bono support by project managing the Kaltenbach classroom renovation. Their expertise ensured the project ran smoothly, efficiently, and to a high standard, saving costs while delivering outstanding outcomes for our school community.

Pro bono support also extends beyond physical spaces. Bernard Desmidt generously donated several days of his time to facilitate management training sessions and strategic workshops. These sessions supported staff development, strengthened leadership capability, and helped guide Warrah’s strategic planning workshop, ensuring the organisation continues to grow sustainably and thoughtfully.

A gift in kind may be furniture, materials, equipment, or event prizes. Pro bono support may be professional expertise offered once or over an ongoing partnership. Together, these contributions support Warrah’s Specialist School, Supported Independent Living homes, and Social and Community Day Programs in practical, hands-on ways.

At different times, Warrah seeks pro bono services and in-kind gifts to support specific priorities, from facility upgrades and program delivery to events and improvements to learning, living, and work environments. Each contribution, whether large or small, plays a role in strengthening our community.

We are proud to recognise the generosity of our supporters. Where eligible, Warrah can provide tax-deductible receipts for pro bono services and gifts in kind in line with ATO guidelines. With permission, supporters are acknowledged through our various communication channels and in ways that are meaningful and aligned with individual or organisational preferences.

At Warrah, generosity is more than a donation, it is a partnership that creates real and lasting impact. If you or your organisation have goods, services, or professional expertise to offer, we would love to hear from you and explore how your support could make a difference.
